About the School

Clad in the robe of greenery, breathing freshness of beauty and occupying the king size area of 14 acres, K.V No.1 had its tryst with destiny in the year 1963 in Army barracks. Initially named Armed Forces school having a modest strength of 200 students and 12 staff members with Ms. Raj Kaur Shah as Principal, now comes to enjoy the elite status of Kendriya Vidyalaya, whilst still maintaining charm of its own. From a mere sapling, it has come long way growing up into a leading institution with a strength of 1764 students and 57 staff members, becoming a part of KVS bouquet that spreads its mesmerizing fragrance in the surroundings. Over the years, K.V.No.1 has emerged as multidisciplinary body known for its excellence in curricular and co- curricular spheres by educational giants. In the present scenario, where individuality, originality and creativity are the hallmarks of our social acceptability and success, the Vidyalaya aims to build a learning community founded on academic excellence and prepared to contribute productively, responsibly and ethically to national and global community.
