About the School

Progressive Public School, Dumri , Giridih is the outcome of the pressing demand of the public of Dumri, Isri and surrounding villages within the radius of 40 kms. The people of these villages were realizing the lack of a C.B.S.E English medium School. Some educationists and Politicians of Dumri , Nawadih , Bagodar and Pirtand blocks made several meetings under the chairmanship of Present M.L.A of Dumri constituency, Mr. Jagarnath Mahto , with a view to start such a school at Dumri, The honourable M.L.A Mr. Jagarnath Mahto felt that there is not any C.B.S.E School in the radius of 40Kms. The villages, surrounding to Dumri are populated by the caste of mainly backword caste, scheduled caste, scheduled tribe and Muslim. So he gave this responsibility to Dr. Shamsul Haque, Principal , P.N. Inter Collage Isri Bazar , to stand an English Medium school at Jamtara , (Dumri).
