Dhanbad Public School, Hirak Branch, sponsored by Shiksha Vikas Trust has carved out a niche for itself amongst the prominent Schools of Dhanbad. Shiksha Vikas Trust was founded in 1988 by a group of eminent elites for the purpose of spreading quality education. The Trust is a social organisation committed in and aiming at world class education that focuses on academic excellence, spiritual and physical fitness and social and environmental consciousness. Around 6-7 thousand students are educated, with the generous hands of SVT under various institutions; Dhanbad Public School (P.O. K.G. Ashram), established in 1989; KKM in 2001, extended as DPS, Hirak Branch in 2002 and Vivekananda Vidyalaya in 2003.
