About the School

The vision of powerful and enlightened India had been conceived by Maharishi DayanandSaraswati (1824-83). He knew that was actually of the ignorant, illiterate masses of this country could be possible only through education and literacy. The vision and philosophy of Maharishi Dayanand was given a practical shape by Mahatma Hans Raj, who led the educational renaissance in India. One aspect of the approach was his choice of English-oriented science-based of Eastern and Western cultures. The first DAV true to its name is an ideal amalgam of best of eastern and Western cultures. The first DAV institution was established at Lahore in the year 1886.
