About the School

The spirit behind the beaming faces and chirping voices in the premises of Tagore Public School is none other than Late Lala Puran Chand Gupta Ji. He was such a great personality who with his positive attitude left an indelible imprint on the people around him in the form of Tagore Public School. He was the inspiration behind the establishment of The Ludhiana Aggarwala Co-Operative H/B Society Ltd. Aggar Nagar, Community Centre. Born at Raikot in 1903, he started his career as a petition writer at Jagraon. His first contribution to the social service was a Dharamshala at his native place. He was exalted to the position of Municipal Commissioner in 1964. He had the honour to serve as The Chairman of Housefed, Chandigarh. He was also the founder member of The Ludhiana Aggarwala Dharamshala, Shivala Road, Ldh. He left for his heavenly abode in 1979 leaving a void behind him. We pay our deep and respectful homage to him.
